Balancing act for Cyril Ramaphosa

For a long period of time, the signs for South Africa did not appear to be as positive as they seem today. The momentum of political change, confidence in the financial markets, rising commodity (export) prices and above all a new president, Cyril Ramaphosa, who has made a hopeful and dynamic start since taking office.

The resignation of Jacob Zuma, who was severely burdened by accusations of corruption, and the election of Ramaphosa have been viewed in many places throughout South Africa as liberating, or a sort of “new awakening”.
