Numerous African states have been experiencing very dynamic economic development for several years now thanks to improved governance and more competitive structures. The private sector has a central role to play here. It creates employment and income, trains young people and enables government action through direct and indirect taxation. The balance between good governance and competitive entrepreneurial activity can lead to the sustainable integration of African states into the global economy in a spirit of partnership.
