The African Ambassadors Labour Mobility Summit has established itself in recent years as an important platform for dialogue, bringing together representatives from African embassies, the German Government, the private sector, civil society and the African diaspora. The aim is to collectively develop fair, transparent and sustainable solutions for labour and skilled worker mobility between Germany and African countries. Whilst Summit 3.0 in 2025 focused in particular on recommendations for action to enhance transparency and trust in bilateral labour mobility partnerships, Summit 4.0 now turns its attention to the practical implementation of labour mobility. The central question is how existing insights and shared priorities can be translated into concrete policy and practical measures.

Together with stakeholders from the fields of politics, diplomacy, business, civil society and the diaspora, we would like to discuss how structural barriers throughout the entire mobility process can be removed and sustainable solutions developed – from visa and recognition procedures, through recruitment and matching, to preparation, onboarding and integration. It is also about clarifying responsibilities and strengthening cooperation between countries of origin, German institutions, embassies, companies and other relevant stakeholders.

The programme includes policy talks, a panel discussion, practical workshops and a ‘Market of Opportunities’. This will showcase existing projects, initiatives and support services that are already making a tangible contribution to successful labour mobility and which can be further developed.
